For the four years I was in high school, my church youth group went to a teen conference a few days after Christmas. The conference was about 12 hours away, so we would always drive the first leg all day long and stop at a church in a small town in Oregon for the night before driving the last leg the next day. The girls were set up in a few of the Sunday school classrooms and we always remarked on the authentic retro styling of the rooms. It wasn't until about last year before I appreciated how awesome the wallpaper in these rooms were.
I went on the conference again this year to volunteer as kitchen staff for the conference and I knew that I needed to take pictures of the wallpaper in case I never went back. It's funny because when I was taking the pictures, I immediately thought of Danielle. I knew she would appreciate the kitschy awesomeness!
I made this digital scrapbook page with the wallpaper as my "paper" and then some of Danielle's Kitschy Digitals products, because the style and colors go along so well. I added the "Wrinkled Linen" as a layer from the Granny's Attic kit over the paper to add some texture over the wallpaper. I made a free download of the wallpaper in case you want to use them for your scrapbooks or desktop wallpaper or whatever! Enjoy!

Thank-you so much Kara for this amazing free download! You know me well - I'm a sucker for vintage illustrations and even better - put them on wallpaper! I could see this used for so many things. It would be super cute printed and used for a sailor themed kid's party for the invitations and more. So many ideas! (for personal use only.. thanks!)
Be sure to check out Kara's inspiring blog and shop. She is also collaborating on a project with her friend Kip called The Lovely Us. These sweet decals are out of stock now, but will be restocked next week! All profits from this project will be used to help pay for Kara's Art School Tuition in NYC. Kara and Kip are collaborating on another business that will be unveiled on March 1st, so be sure to follow Kara's blog for more details on that! You can see more of Kara's photography and other artwork in her gorgeous flickr stream.
