More images of this beauty! This was at the end of the evening of our little Seaside, Florida photo shoot. The sun was setting and the light was just so pretty. It doesn't hurt that this gal has the prettiest sunkissed skin tone and almost silvery sunshine hair. Not only does she look like she belongs in California, with surfboard in tow (maybe existing sometime in the seventies wearing those cute braids and retro jumper I found), but she was quite the little fish at the beach. She is around a year younger than Campbell, but MUCH more confident and adventurous in the water. She has no fear. That can be a good and bad thing ; ) We all marveled at how much she loved the water. She couldn't get enough of it.
I found this little jumper on Etsy and I think it's just about the most perfect thing ever. The pattern (!!!) on the fabric is to die for. I've tried asking several people who designed this fabric, even the maker of the jumper, but no one seems to know. If you know, could you let me know in the comments? I would so appreciate it! The style and cut of the piece is just gorgeous. I'm not sure if she drafted an original pattern or borrowed from or was inspired by a vintage pattern, but either way, it's amazing. I told Cecilia's Mom that I want it back when she grows out of it for my future granddaughters. (again, wishful thinking!)
I was taken aback by how mature and serious she looks in the first pictures I took at this location. I think she was probably getting tired of the pictures (don't blame her!) but she was such a trooper and never complained. So I asked her to do her infamous kitty impresson that she does all the time to liven things up ... and she gifted me with the most wonderful expressions! Love this girl! She's so unique and quirky and guess what? She's ARTISTIC. She's totally crafty. She loves making things... looming, hand-sewing (yes, at 6 years old), mod-podging, you name it. I think she would've indeed fit in well back in the seventies during those awesome kitschy, crafty times.
Here's the back of the jumper above. It's not a great picture and hard to see, but it's smocked in the back and then transitions into bubble shorts. Too perfect.
