Soon after my trip to NYC with my mother and sister, I made a photo book of the photos I took. I wanted to try a new book publisher and remembered my friend Liz made a gorgeous book at Blurb a while back. (First let me say, this is not a sponsored post!) Anyway, she used the trade/notebook size which is a bit smaller photo book size than I'm used to, but wanted to try it out! I also liked the look of the uncoated pages.
My book is in full color, with hard cover, at 6"x9". I was really, really happy with the way it came out! Even though it's smaller, you can do full spread or full page photos and they are still very big when looking through it.
Another thing I loved about this book, is that adding pages wasn't super costly. It was only cents more a page. You know when you add pages on some photo book sites, that increases the cost a lot? This book was $33.86 including shipping with 44 pages.
I love adding patterned papers throughout photo books because they are a nice break, visually, from all of the photos. They also add nice color! For this book, I used papers from Liz's gorgeous Make Believe digital kit. I also used the papers on the front and back cover. I think it really turned out gorgeous! All you have to do is upload the patterned paper jpegs to your online photo book publisher, just as you would your regular photo jpegs. Very easy.
We have LOTS of gorgeous patterned papers at Kitschy Digitals as well! It's that time of year to start thinking about holiday gifts, and photo books are my go-to gift. Friends and family LOVE photo books! Why not add some gorgeous and colorful patterns to your photo books this year?
And speaking of the holidays? We've been working on a massive Handmade Holiday Gift Guide for Kitschy Digitals that we'll be launching before this month is over! It's epic and will be full of tons of NEW freebie downloads! We are super excited about it. Believe it or not, it's a great time to get started on those handmade gifts! Can you believe October is just around the corner?
