In honor of buying my tickets for some 2013 Palm Springs Modernism Week events, I thought I'd share this vintage GEM that we visited in Palm Springs last year. I can't believe I totally forgot to share this with you guys. It's been over a year! I was hoping to do a little interview with the owner (who happens to be from Atlanta!), but I never got around to it. The shop is called Dazzles. They have no website, but here's the address if you're ever in the area! It is a must-see if you're a vintage 50s/60s/70s Kitsch fan (like me). It's like everything you ever loved about those decades, crammed into a super tiny shop, just brimming with vintage goodness!
It was super SUPER SUPER hot while we were there (well over 100 every day), and this tiny shop was even hotter. I remember literally having to wipe the sweat running down my face and neck the whole time we were shopping (totally disgusting, I know.) But you know what? It was worth it. Luckily, I'll be there in February next year so it won't be so hot. (YES.) It's definintely a bit pricey at this shop (you're in Palm Springs after all) but there are definitely some affordable gems to be found!
And if you are a vintage enamel brooch collector, this shop is like MECCA. There are SEVERAL glass displays literally FULL of these beauties. It is awe-inspiring seeing them all in one place.
You can see more posts here all about our Palm Springs trip last year. I can't wait to go again for more Mid-Century Modern Eye Candy & good times with friends.
