You didn't think I was done with my Netherlands/Belgium posts did you? ; )
So, I knew we had to visit a HEMA while over there. I'd seen people post about it on a few Dutch blogs and it looked like a place that any design lover would like. Kind of like our Target! But even better.
It did not disappoint. I walked around like a crazy woman with my camera taking pics. Can you imagine doing that in Target? (Well, I guess that wouldn't be so crazy.) And everything was so cheap! My favorite departments were the school supplies, craft supplies and, of course, the bikes. (I think the strap that holds down your soccer ball on the back of your bike seemed so charmingly European. Cooper would love that.) I am kicking myself for not buying one of those clocks.
I did bring home some things. I'll share those soon.
See more posts about our trip to the Netherlands and Belgium here.

You bought SOME things?! How did you not buy EVERY thing!!

I'm obsessed! I want a store like it in the USA or at least to be able to order online. I want everything in all of these pictures.

I wish there was a store like that in Britain, everything is so pretty and colourful!

I just discovered your blog and I really enjoy these posts. I am from the Netherlands myself and never really see any foreign blogs writing about the Netherlands. You seem to pick just the right topics to write about ;)! Hema is one of my favourite stores, I've been going there since I was very little. Great quality too! The ball strap is from the yearly hema design contest btw: http://www.hemaontwerpwedstrijd.nl/about_design_competition.php

I was born in Amsterdam and raised there until I was ten ... I had a Hema around the corner of where I used to live ! Such great memories of beautiful and cheap stuff ... went back 25 years after and it was still there as nice as in my memories :)

Love, love, love HEMA! I bought so many things when I went and yes, so inexpensive!! I bought some totes in the same fabric as those bags you pictured and a bunch of stationary, I use my red polka dot HEMA stapler all the time!!

HEMA is the best shop in Europe. Every time we visit family in Belgium I go hog wild. And now they deliver which makes it all so much more dangerous.
Their design and use of colour is so great. And the fact that everything is so cheap just makes it all that much more perfect.
Oh and I'm addicted to their fudge.
