Did I trick ya with my blog posts last week? We were out of town in Florida for seven days for Spring Break. SEVEN days. That is the most time we've spent at the beach at one time. Usually we do a long weekend. For the past few spring breaks we've spent a few days in Savannah and Tybee Island, Georgia. We decided to try something different this year. We'd heard great things about St. George and it totally lived up to the hype! We really fell in love with the island and neighboring Apalachicola and hope to go again next spring break.
I'm not usually into spending a ton of time at the beach because there's only so much time I can spend sitting on the beach. I get bored! I'm much more into visiting cities and having lots to do. But I'll tell you, this trip totally changed my mind about that. It takes a few days to really relax and then it's time to go if you only go for a long weekend. But 7 days! That is the most relaxed I think we've all been in months. We really needed it. Even the boys. No schedule, no school, no appointments, no sports. Just the ultimate quality family time. It was a dream. Just the four of us.
We road our bikes into town, ate lots of amazing seafood, drank lots of homemade cocktails, cooked, geocached (!!! blog post coming soon!), collected shells, wore glow-stick jewelry at night while crab-hunting on the beach, went vintage treasure hunting, I crafted at night while we watched Game of Thrones (season 1, my 1st time watching, omg!), The Big Bang Theory (season 1, our first time watching!) & An Idiot Abroad (pee-yourself-hilarious ). It was the best time!
Campbell helped me sort Perler beads for this...
A few treasures found...
And is it sad that I was excited to get to use my Target sale find? $12! Yes it's technically for "mini" girls, but so what. : )
On a side note, I borrowed Ethan's iphone and took a few of these pics. I have a Droid and I have to say.. omg, the quality of iphone photos are pretty amazing. I know, I've been living under a rock. And I won't evangelize about having a Droid and how it's just as good. Because omg, mine is a P.O.S. There I said it.
So have your kids had Spring Break yet? Any fun plans or trips? Do you realize school will be out in a month in a half? Summer! Whoa!!
