I was doing a Pinterest feature for a little while there (ten pins) but I pretty much never get on Pinterest anymore. I found it too overwhelming. Maybe one day I'll get into it, but I honestly find it a vortex and time-sucker and like I need something else distracting me online?
So I started bookmarking things that I liked on Delicious (definitely not the best platform to do that, but it works for me for now. I wish they had a way to show photos of your links like Pinterest does). I like it because you can bookmark things from any computer. I also like that it's private (unlike Pinterest.. maybe one day that will be an option?) Private pinboards would be great for work-stuff.
I thought I would do my "Bullseye" list every now and then (preferably weekly, but I never commit to anything because life never works out that way) and show what's on my "radar" lately. Just fun random things!
Here's my first one:
1. Found these AMAZING retro appliances this week via someone on Twitter. I always loved the SMEG fridges but I hear they aren't the most practical buys (not tons of space). These seem to have that amazing retro feel, but with modern conveniences built into the designs. Ethan keeps telling me that he'll buy me my dream fridge for our next home. Getting away from the dreaded WHITE BOX will be SO nice. Maybe I'll actually be tempted to cook?
2. How amazing is this hanging chair? Yarn in a rainbow of colors looks good on anything. (Alexandra ANGLE Interior Design via Simplygrove)
3. Cute shelf full of vintage whimsies
4. The most PERFECT bathing suit I have ever seen. I've been looking for a good bathing suit to wear to Palm Springs next weekend (always a drudgery). I love the ones with skirts. This rainbow one is my dream suit. Too bad it sold. :*(
5. CA-UTE haircut. I had my hair cut and colored on Monday. I ended up going back the next day to have it altered a bit. I used this photo as my inspiration. My hair is pretty much this short now and I loooove it. Maybe not that "boy" short on the sides, but pretty darn close. I also have some lighter highlights than usual, a nice contrast to my new glasses. I need to take a photo soon.
6. I watched my favorite childhood movie, The Parent Trap, with Cooper last weekend for the first time! Although he was a bit confused over what the heck was going on ("Ok, which kid belongs to WHO again?") he was such a good sport about watching it. And he liked it! His favorite part was the end with the stop-motion animation of the cupid angels and their butts (of course.)
As usual with any movie or show I'm watching, I often look up the actors on IMDB to see what they're up to now or what other movies/shows they were in. I was looking up Brian Keith and saw that he was on a TV show called Family Affair. I had never heard of it! (i'm sure some of you are saying "WHAT?!") The photos from the show look amazing. I need to hunt it down and watch it.
7. Incredible mid-century doors. I want.
8. My obsession with vintage 60's/70's Scandinavian fabric continues. It's tragic that they are so hard to find! Seems like the States is not the place to be to find these, even on ebay/etsy. My next travel dream is to go to Sweden. (image from Giddy Giddy)
9. More amazing custom made mid-century style doors. This company is based out of Austin, TX. (found via Northcrest Modern)
10. Lovely vintage archery photo.
11. Pretty Sissy Spacek.
12. Groovy dollhouse furniture. Love!
13. Amazing sunglasses. I wanted these but they wouldn't accept returns (just in case). So i bought these and these because #1 I loved the styles and #2 these sellers accept returns! yay! I'll be choosing one to have prescription lenses put in. I wanted something over-sized and 70's inspired.
What pretty things are on YOUR radar this week? Link me in the commments! : )
