Can't wait to visit this little cupcake airstream stand in Austin when we go this summer. So so excited.
This blog post is going to be a bit of a random hodge podge of sorts. I feel like my head is all over the place and I couldn't get together one solid theme for this post. So it's going to be all over the place.
First up, is The Little Pink Studio Giveaway Winner!
(polaroid frame & woodgrain patterned paper background from my Vintage Cameras digital kit, Button from this kit and Vintage Stacked flower from this kit)
Congrats Elizabeth! I'll be sending you an email today! :-) Thank-you to everyone that stopped by to enter this giveaway and thank-you to Cerri of The Little Pink Studio for her generosity. Be sure to check out her new Spring goodies in her shop!
I will have another sponsor giveaway this Thursday from GingiberSnap, so look out for that! I was just noticing her new alphabet prints... cute!
Remember that Eames inspired DIY tutorial I mentioned a few posts back? I'm still working on it here and there. I've been so busy that's it's slow-going. But I do plan on finishing it this week. So, crossing fingers it will be up Friday. It's going to be super cute I think, so stay tuned.
And speaking of Mid-Century Modern inspired things, check out these cute, CUTE prints, from JennSki's Etsy shop:
Another artist that I recently stumbled on after she left a comment here is Alice Clair. Her work is pretty darn inspiring. It's always so incredibly exciting to find a new artist that incorporates so many elements that you love. Be sure to follow her blog which she just recently started. Looking forward to seeing what inspiring things she posts there! Also be sure to keep an eye on her etsy shop that I hope she will start filling with prints of her gorgeous work.
I have some more inspiring artists that I hope to share with you this week. There are just so many!
I listed my first Closet Cleanout on Plastic Paradise this weekend (the Blythe lovers out there will know what I'm talking about ;-)
It's under "Sundries" under my post authored by "kitschydigitals" if you're interested in looking. I also listed my two remaining Tiny Bazaar headbands that have been drastically reduced in price. (all items in this cleanout have been reduced from the original price I paid, of course.) Here are some items that are left!
Speaking of Tiny Bazaar Headbands.. I know I haven't made any in SO LONG. Now that it's warming up outside (i have to make them outside because of the toxic-y/fumy glue), I hope to make a new large batch in April. I'm really itching to make some.
And last, we were super sad and dissapointed that we couldn't make it to my grandmother's 80th birthday party bash this weekend. What a crazy few days last week. We spent all night thursday and friday morning packing for our drive to Louisiana to attend this really important event. I had been looking forward to it for months. Pretty much every living relative on my Dad's side (which includes alot of relatives on my Mom's side as well... sisters married brothers... that is a long story! ha!) was going to be attending.
(me trying on dresses for the party.. notice my new Liberty of London rainboots? ;-)

Well, we were on the road for about 4.5 hours and hadn't even made it to Birmingham, AL yet (that's a 3 hour drive usually), we knew it wasn't looking good. Before we left, I took Coop to the doctor and found he had (yet again) strep. Both boys just recovered from that a few weeks ago, you might remember.
Their doc gave me an antibiotic for Cam as well, ya know, just in case. Well, while we were on the road, Cam started vomiting (Coop had been up the night before with it as well). We had to pull over to a random mall and run into JcPenney for towels to clean out the car. It was a disaster.
So after much thought and dissapointment, we decided to turn around and go home. (I felt bad for the boys, and I also didn't want to be that mom that exposes a party full of people to strep, including lots of kids and elderly!)
7 hours later, we were back where we started. :( We were all just so bummed. Especially me because I was SO looking forward to seeing family I hadn't seen in years.
We seem to have the worst luck with trips.. someone always gets sick beforehand. I'd like to think that it isn't bad luck though, or that we're cursed.. lol. I'll just tell myself that "that's just life". ya know?
My cousin is getting married in June so, barring any sickness (!!!!) I'll get to see many of my relatives on this second go around!
hope everyone had a lovely weekend!

hey cupcake is the greatest! in fact, we have a TON of great trailer eating spots in austin you should visit while you're here: flip happy crepes, sweetie pie (pies), gourdough doughnuts, bananarchy (frozen bananas)...to name a few...

Oh Danielle, I'm sorry you had bad luck! I think it's just part of life with kids. One hour into a trip home from Dallas to Atlanta our youngest gave me the look and then threw up everywhere. Nothing like smelling vomit for the rest of the trip... I hope June goes better!

Order the Snowcap cupcake when you visit, you won't be sorry you did. :)

If you are going to Austin, I highly recommend the Omelettry or Kerby Lane for scrumptious gingerbread pancakes.

So you are not alone with the bad trip luck! Hoping your house is well soon :)

I have been to that cupcake place - it is right across the street from a very good restaurant - South Congress Cafe. Also a yummy texmex one right down the street - Gueros. And don't miss Amy's ice cream - all on South Congress - like 4 blocks of shops and stores, and airstream trailers:)

while in austin, you should also check out sugar mama's, to compare cupcakes. there's also an AMAZING sushi place called uchi. you'll need reservations most likely, but be sure to go...unless you don't like sushi. then i'm sad for you.
