A crochet sneaky-peek of a home decor project I'm working on.. I used some leftover yarn from the Gingerbread house that I was working on for Christmas 2009 (which I didn't finish, but I plan to, mind you! ;-)
Crochet is seriously way too much fun. I'm so glad that I finally finally picked it up. It took me a while to get over my intimidation of it, but once you "get it", you're off and running!
And a photo of some very very adorable birthday gifts from a very very good friend. :-) Isn't it nice when you have friends that "get" you? That is a very rare thing. HOW did she know that I've been coveting one of those huge plastic ice cream cones (that have bubbles inside!) and one of those Lucky Chinese cats? I'm putting a battery in that baby ASAP so I can watch his arm bobble up and down all day. :-) and all I can say about the wallet is hello, CUTE?!
And some pretty cool news on the blog-front.. I was contacted by a Typepad team member last week interested in adding Thompson Family-Life to the featured directory... that was pretty exciting. And there aren't many times in your life that you get to share a page with David Byrne, Spock and Michael Ian Black (who is apparently a celebrity that is "very famous".)
Nah, I'm pretty sure that won't ever happen again.
: )
(p.s. I'm in good company as well with a friend or two! :-) I'm listed under "Crafts" and "Life")

holy FREAK girl!
congrats on the nod from Typepad. . . SOOOO deserved! ;)
just so you know. . . my hubby has a *crush* on Star Trek (the new one!). . . isn't that cute? tee hee!
he would KILL me for saying it though. . . hmmm. . . but there it is!
also. . . LOVE LOVE LOVE the grannies!
i am intimidated by crocheting too. . . tried it a few years back and had a B-A-D experience(s). . . maybe i should give it a go again?
don't know.
but seeing yours makes me want to try. . . *oh* try again!
also. . . a funny side-note. . . i JUST bought some vintage Skipper paper dolls in a box like that on Ebay this weekend! funny, no?
they are quite CUTE. . . but. . . most *awesome* people love vintage paper dolls :)
and, with the Blythe addiction. . . i have been smitten with Skipper too!
she was SO mod and SO cute. . . talk about i wardrobe that i covet!!!
Skipper is under rated i would say. . . at least compared to how much people LOVE the barbie :)
any hoot. . . bye love and glad that you think that you have such a good friend! tee hee! says the humble girl typing.
p.s. that pic you took of the ice cream, kitty and wallet makes me SMILE :)

did you NOT know you're a craft celeb?? Seriously lady!! I dream of being your crafty/famous self! :)
to those afraid of crochet.... take a class!! I did & it was the best thing ever! make sure it's a SMALL class (my granny square had 2 + the teacher) so you can get tons of extra attention!
did you try any patterns from that vintage link I sent you? I haven't checked it very closely yet...
Enjoy basking in your fame!!

Oh! Congrads on being listed! Yay!
Much agree that it's well deserved - you have such an inspiring lil place here. :)
And that wallet is too funny/cute! It's a tv show called 'Pucca' that's really big overseas - I worked on the second season of it doing effects and fun stuff! Too funny! :)
And your granny squares may be the most beautiful colored granny squares I've ever seen! Can't wait to see what you're up to with them! Happy day!
