Just thought I'd share some photos of our trip to Savannah, GA this weekend to celebrate my birthday. The boys stayed with the in-laws and I know they had a ball. So did we. It was a much, much needed break.
And I felt very spoiled by my husband and it made me realize even more how very lucky I am to have him. Not too many men would drive and walk their wives around town to find all of the Blythe-photo-taking-worthy locations, even as far as going to a semi-sketchy area because there was a really cool sign that would make a really cool photo.
He even held them up for me with both hands for the above shot. And even though he was very wary of the area, he still let me take some photos. (Though we were soon accosted by a homeless man trying to "trade" whatever I had in my bag - um, my very expensive camera equipment - for the grill he was carrying under his arm, no doubt found in the trash somewhere. We were like "no thanks". It was pretty funny, and he seemed fairly harmless, but you better believe it that we were hustling out of there pretty fast after that. Lol!)
I'll try and share more details about the trip, but thought I'd do a quick post with some photos for now. I'm exhausted. I'll try and share some pics of my birthday loot too if I can find some time. ;-) Tomorrow will be spent giving this house some extra TLC. Some serious cleaning is in order.
Here are some interior shots I took inside the gorgeous historic home/hotel we stayed in, the Kehoe House. Really breathtaking inside. We rarely splurge on hotels, but Ethan thought we would since we were sans kids and since it was my birthday. ;-)
This vignette of paintings was the first thing we saw upon entrance of the hallway where our room was located. It was really stunning and the colors in the paintings were so incredibly inspiring to me! Turquoise, vibrant red, midnight blues and yellows.
Even though I LOVED, LOVED my college experience at Auburn (they had a really incredible fine arts program), I'm sure I would've looooved going to SCAD. This college makes Savannah such a cool little town. We have really fallen in love with this city. It's one of those "we-could-totally-retire-here" type places you talk about. It's near the ocean too which is a plus. It's not like we wouldn't live there now, but we've been spoiled with the great job market here in Atlanta, if you know what I mean. ;-)
And some more Blythe-around-Savannah photos...
We went to some really cute boutiques, ate some incredible food (and alot of it) and went to a really beautiful museum. I will share some details on these in another post this week!
Thank you for the sweet birthday wishes!

I REALLY loved College.) I was in the theater program there.... BTW I love your blog, your pics, your Blythe dolls, your style.... its one of my favorite places to visit. Thanks for sharing!
