Here's a last-minute craft you could do with the kids (or just for yourself!) to add to your Thanksgiving decor. Place them around the table as accents, or make them into placecard holders. SO CUTE. My super-talented and sweet friend Karli Plant made these adorable pinecone turkeys using feathers from the Kitschy Digitals Fresh Feathers digital kit, some cotton balls, woodgrain contact paper (you could use any woodgrain patterned paper that you have!) and glue. SO easy!
She just opened her digital feather files in Photoshop, reduced them in size when needed, printed them and then cut them out. Attach to your pinecone with glue. She made the beak with the woodgrain contact paper. You could also create a placecard with your guests' names and slip it into the pincone in front of the feathers.. or just write your guest's name on one of the feathers!
If you prefer more realistic looking feathers, but don't want to deal with the mess of real feathers, I have a Feathers digital kit that has feathers in realistic colors.
Kids would have fun creating these, but I also think they'd be great for your vintage/kitschy inspired dinner table. Break out your Pyrex and vintage dinnerware, and these kitschy pinecone turkeys will fit right in!
Thanks, Karli, for this super-cute idea! I hope everyone has a fabulous holiday. :-)
