Hi! Just a quick note to let those know that have emailed me the past 2 days that our internet has been down. Funnily enough, the internet/cable was still working even with the lines being pulled down by a fallen tree this week because of the storm. Then some people came to put the wires back up, and decided they wanted to sever the internet/cable line, and then left without a trace. Nice, huh? Makes sense... Wire down: internet works. Wire up: internet doesn't work.
But it's back up! yay! I'm cleaning and completing some decorating projects that have been left undone for months now. We have friends coming into town this weekend, and that's never a better time to tidy up the house and get things done that you've been putting off.
The biggest thing to tackle was to get all the things I've been hoarding for the past year or so, that have been sitting in cabinets and closets collecting dust, UP on the wall above my little "studio" space, over my desk. The area above my desk has been BLANK for many months now. Sad, I know. I got some new furniture a while back for my little area (all courtesy IKEA) and I just never redecorated the wall.
Finally it's done and it's looking quite colorful and carnival-like, just how I like it. :-)
Sorry for the totally crappy and grainy photos. It's very dark in my house.
(don't mind that mangled mess of wires underneath the desk. ;-) No matter how HARD we try to organize wires, it never works. So we gave up.)

HOLY Tabetsy I've died and gone to heaven! I love your studio! Want to trade? You even have the ikea dresser I wanted. Although it would have never fit in my house. Love all your artwork and the frames and oh I could go on and on and on like a bad record. Hehe cords suck!

Such an adorable spot! Here's a thought regarding the wires--my husband mounted small, inexpensive tie/belt racks on the back of our desk (since it's pushed against the wall) and wrapped all the cords in and around the small "hooks." It works great!

I had to chuckle when you described all the hoarded bits of furniture and decor! I LITERALLY have a few myself that I can see out of the corner of my eye right now that I finally took out to spray paint/paint that had been collecting dust for a little over a year!

you cant beat wires. you join them. Drop by the hardware store and grab some mdf (particle board whatever you call it) paint it white the wall colour or white, and put it between the desk and the wall and hide the wires down there (cut out a shape for wires to go into device like computer. ... no show from one side... messy from the other.. perfection.
