Trying to post this really quick tonight (well it might actually post on the 14th depending on how long I take to write this! lol!) because I've got to get ready for two ladies coming over tomorrow for a fun girlie photo shoot at chez moi. :-) I'm so pumped. Remember Brynna? My friend Syl and I are getting to shoot her again and we have lots of fun things planned. We're using my studio lights and Syl's ring flash. I'm SO EXCITED. A little intimidated by using the lights, but looking forward to having complete control over the light for once. And maybe even using some of our interiors as backdrops since I'll finally have good enough light to use them. Stay tuned!
This is what I've been spending my time on the past couple days. Delivered these early today to Coop and Cam's teachers since I wouldn't have time to on actual Valentine's Day because of our shoot. Bought some cupcakes from my favorite cupcake place and placed them inside these chinese takeout boxes from Michael's. I made some more of my cupcake liner carnations (idea courtesy Martha) but added a little twist by attaching these plastic flower cupcake toppers to the middle. I had no intentions of doing this, but saw them sitting there, and voila! I love the look. Since the plastic roses are on a plastic stick they stick right through the small hole created when the flaps of the takeout box come together at the top when closed. So you don't even have to glue the entire thing to the box. Pulls easily right out when you open the box.
I lined the inside of the boxes with red and white polka dot tissue paper (you can see it in my new blog header!) and set one cupcake inside. I used the little sugar candy embellishments and Valentine's cupcake toppers from one of my favorite places, A. Bel Emporium. Stuck them right into the icing. The striped cupcake liners came from her, as well as the plastic rose toppers.
I made the tags by using Hambly overlays.. and this is actually really cool because they are from their new line they are debuting at CHA right now (er.. or maybe it's over.. but it was this week i think. lol! :-) Allison contacted me to be a guest designer for March... she knowing I'm not scrapping anymore, but she asked anyway, which was SO nice.. and I'm so glad b/c once I saw the new stuff, I was like "yes! i'll do it!" I'll be doing other non-scrapbooking related projects, so you'll see those in March! I strung the tags onto red and white baker's twine. (don't you love that stuff?)
So those are the details.. and here are the photos! Hope you all have a great day with your loved ones! :-)
And by the way, i think i owe some people some emails.. things have been crazy around here.. hoping to catch up soon! ugh. Sorry!
